Ancient Music by Ezra Pound
Ancient Music
by Ezra Pound
Winter is icummen in,
Lhude sing Goddamm.
Raineth drop and staineth slop,
And how the wind doth ramm!
Sing: Goddamm.
Skiddeth bus and sloppeth us,
An ague hath my ham.
Freezeth river, turneth liver,
Damn you, sing: Goddamm.
Goddamm, Goddamm, 'tis why I am, Goddamm,
So 'gainst the winter's balm.
Sing goddamm, damm, sing Goddamm.
Sing goddamm, sing goddamm, DAMM.
We had such a beautiful snowfall, and now the raineth drops and slopeth us, and the river is all brown . . . And soon the wind will ramm . . .

The two water pictures, and looking up into the tree. Perhaps my favorites. And now I am humming my own tune to Ezra.
Another breathtaking photo sequence.
I love the graphic matching in the standing and leaning verticals created by the trunks and branches, an eye-guiding poetry in that.
