Woe for the poor deer, soooo unhappy.
But by the stillness with which they receive your visitations, plainly knowing you are there (the alert ears say so), it does seem that you are being acknowledged as an unthreatening presence in their world -- enduring the cold together.
Freezing is bad, trust good.
