Oh the holidays . . .

The poems going through my mind today . . .

1. "Mending Wall," by Frost
"Something there is that doesn't love a wall . . . "

2. "Hope is a thing with feathers--
That perches in the soul--
And sings the tune without the words--
And never stops--at all-- "

by Emily Dickinson (this is the first stanza)

3. And of course, "Annabel Lee"

The holidays have left me utterly drained and blank. Last night was sort of a peak, though -- Jane's dress took people's breath away (really) and that gave her a great feeling that she couldn't do anything but enjoy. So, I'm not sure what poetry inspires me today. I spent time this morning reading Herakleitos fragments (like recipes, they convey a lot in very few words). But a lot of it was end of the world stuff, which doesn't sit very well today. Fortunately, for 2012 (Happy New Year!, by the way), I've decided to change everything about myself, everything I do. Now, back to Million Dollar Rooms on HGTV. Curtis

Jane's dress sounds like a poem in itself. And yes, I think I will go for a total transfusion as well. Beginning with the brain . . .

It's never too late for a field trip to the first mall... or is it?
